Cory & Anna: Engaged
October 23, 2012
Someday, I’ll actually visit the Duquesne Incline for reasons other than photos. Someday. Since Cory and Anna got engaged here, we thought it’d be a good start for their photos. We were hoping to catch some great sunrise action, but ended up with a pretty cloudy morning.
But the shoes totally made up for it. Love those shoes.

After that, we did some exploring around Schenley Park. For maximum Pittsburghness, they broke out the Steelers jerseys.

See more on Facebook.
Bastard Bearded Irishmen

A few weeks back, I got a call from City Paper about getting some photos of these guys for their “Best of Pittsburgh” issue. Their art director told me to “have fun with it,” so this is what we came up with.
Justun Palencsar (from In the Blood Tattoo on East Carson) was nice enough to keep his shop open late, make up a stencil, and stand in as our tattoo artist. Despite Jimmy’s panicked face, no Bastards were harmed in the production of this photo.
We also did a more typical band shot, lined up in front of a flag Justun had hanging in his workspace.
You can read more about them here, see the Bastard Bearded Irishmen site, or check out the rest of the Best of Pittsburgh issue.

We started these out in the usual way, and ended the day throwing popcorn. Can’t take me anywhere.
Jesse: Promos
September 17, 2012
I know this dude, and he’s funny. Lately, he’s decided to be funny on stage, and he asked me to shoot some portraits for him. There’s a website coming, but for now, you can keep up with him on the twitter.
When people ask me to do portraits for them, they don’t always have an exact idea of how they want them to look (so no, it’s not just you). I told Jesse that when I’d done a shoot with a Judo instructor before, I just made sure he looked like he could kick your ass (because he totally can). He said that’d work. So we roamed around the Southside, got honked at, and took some pictures.
I’m not sure what’s going on in the background, with the cops, and those folks frantically digging around in their trunk. I’m sure it’s fine.
