I know I generally use people shots for previews. But I’m honestly just sentimental about this piano. It was one of the first things that I shot, in my very first photography class at Cal. I’ve gotten a little better since then. My dad has been playing it for years, in a church that I’ve belonged to since I was three years old. After my Pap’s funeral, we went upstairs and his boys played music together. It turned what had been an awful day for everyone, into a celebration of a wonderful man that I miss dearly. Dad played it at my wedding, and more recently played it at my brother’s.
There will be people photos soon, of our family celebrating in their usual ridiculous way. Music tends to be a pretty big piece of it, so I thought this was appropriate.
Tara & Jason
August 29, 2010
Things got a bit hectic around here! But never fear, updates are coming.
This was a fun one, partly because it was in my hometown (Tara and Jason were married at Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville), and partly because I went to grade school with the groom.
I actually used to give tours at the castle, when I was in high school. This is one of my favorite rooms.

They had a chocolate fountain AND a candy bar. A girl after my own heart.

Stonewall Resort
July 19, 2010
I know my family thinks I’m addicted to workahol, but look! I went on vacation!
We spent the fourth of July weekend in West Virginia, at Stonewall Resort. The whole place is lovely, and I sort of wish I’d gotten more photos of the grounds, but hey I’m off the clock. (Although there was a wedding there on Saturday. There was also a wedding nearby when I was in Naples, and when we did the Maryland Railroad with my folks. Weird.) Anyway, we spent a good bit of our trip in the pool, biking, and the boys got some golf in. The only photos I really got were the day we spent on the pontoon boat.
Lori, looking wonderfully dramatic

This is what I look like when you put me in direct sunlight.

Anthony was born to drive a pontoon boat.

This may have reminded some of you that I went to Europe not so long ago. I’d love to get those posted up travel journal style in the future, but I haven’t had time to do it. In the mean time, they’re on Facebook.
