One Frame

September 8, 2010

I know I generally use people shots for previews. But I’m honestly just sentimental about this piano. It was one of the first things that I shot, in my very first photography class at Cal. I’ve gotten a little better since then. My dad has been playing it for years, in a church that I’ve belonged to since I was three years old. After my Pap’s funeral, we went upstairs and his boys played music together. It turned what had been an awful day for everyone, into a celebration of a wonderful man that I miss dearly. Dad played it at my wedding, and more recently played it at my brother’s.

There will be people photos soon, of our family celebrating in their usual ridiculous way. Music tends to be a pretty big piece of it, so I thought this was appropriate.
